Information & Referral                (I&R)

  Neighbors InDeed Information & Referral Service (I&R) is the gateway to all Neighbors InDeed programs. Volunteers respond to message requests from Sun City Lincoln Hills residents needing direct services, as well as the information provided about local resources that range from health care, to plumbers, to transportation and many, many more. To reach I&R, please call our 24-hr. message center at 916-223-2763.  We never answer the phone, but we will get all the details needed from your message, then call you back on Monday - Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  I&R volunteers use a dedicated cell phone that is handed from volunteer to volunteer on each shift along with binders for referral sources and instructions on approved/not approved tasks. When messages are received, the residents will receive a return call from I&R (usually the same day).  If it's an approved task or for medical equipment, I&R will gather all details needed from the resident, then enter the task into the computer. The Dispatcher-on-duty will see the Open Call on the computer then locate a Handy Helper (HH) or Medical Equipment Volunteer (ME) for the task. Once a ME is assigned the task, they will respond within 24 hours or sooner. A HH will respond within 48 hours or sooner.  An appointment time will be arranged that is convenient for the resident.  (For a chirping alarm, HH return calls are made on the same day, if possible.)  


If the task requested is not an approved task, I&R will offer the resident a referral from our Resource list.  Local vendor referrals are obtained from recommendations by Sun City Lincoln Hills residents who used the service and were pleased with results. It is important to note that Neighbors InDeed does not endorse or guarantee the work of any of these resources. We simply provide the contact information for residents to use as they see fit. We suggest that residents obtain cost, get estimates and other information from all referrals before they make a decision. To recommend a vendor be added to our Resources Listing, please call 916-223-2763 and provide the vendor name and phone number.
